The trail is built on a former railway line that once connected Velenje and Dravograd, offering cyclists a smooth and traffic-free riding experience through forests, valleys, tunnels, and bridges.
The route starts in Velenje and immediately joins the dedicated cycling path of the Štrekna trail. The surface is fully asphalted, making the route suitable for trekking bikes, gravel bikes, road bikes, and indoor cycling route recordings.
As the trail leaves the urban surroundings of Velenje, it enters a more natural environment with forests, open valley sections, and characteristic railway infrastructure. One of the highlights of this section is the series of tunnels and bridges that preserve the atmosphere of the former railway corridor while creating a unique riding experience.
