One of the highlights of this route is the historic Parenzana railway tunnel. Riding through the long stone tunnel immediately transports you back to the time when the Parenzana narrow-gauge railway connected Trieste with Poreč. The tunnel has been carefully restored for cyclists and pedestrians, preserving its authentic stone walls while providing a smooth asphalt surface and modern lighting. It is one of the most iconic landmarks on the Slovenian section of the Parenzana Trail and a memorable experience for every visitor.
